Going for m|n| Brunei course in Tekong for the next 5-6 days...so dun fret if u can't get me on my phone...I'm actually juz enjoying the baking sun, mud pools and saltwater in Tekong! =) we'll be doing plenty of stuff which include navigation by day/night, river crossing, platoon/company battle course, hasty defence etc. etc. basically all the things that we'll be doing in Brunei...so looking forward to wearing my new jungle hat for Navi...no more smelly helmets!

juz got a brochure from camp regarding Brunei...juz to quote some of it...
==>Temperatures in Brunei range between 20 to 35 degree celsius, where rainfall is frequent n heavy and humidity ranges from 67% to 91% depending on temperature and rainfall

==>Due to poor draining nature of the soil that makes up the land surface, water in main rivers is brackish for many miles upstream and thus often results in puddles of stagnant or brackish water which mosquitoes breed and bacteria grow. Flash floods are common in the strong undulating ridge and steep valley terrain esp when there are heavy downpours which are quite frequent in Brunei

==>Wild animals that can be seen in the jungle include crocodiles, civets, pheasants, mongoose, honey bears, all kinds of venomous snakes, cobras, vipers and pythons of which some are poisonous and some are not but utmost caution must be executed when encountered, an abundance of mosquitoes, scorpions, centipides and spiders and parasites such as leeches and ticks.

==>climate is generally hot, humid and rainy and imposes considerable strain on personnel and equipment, though it can be cold at high altitudes and care must be taken to prevent heat injuries and hypothermia.

brunei jungle is 1 hell of a screwed up place
